Great, a plot to blow up planes leaving London.
Well I didn't plan for that.

  • Dont worry - you will be arriving, not leaving.

Also I just bought 3 more necklaces and a hair clip. Add that to the 2 necklaces and the braclet I bought yesterday and I've saved over $500!

  • Well true.
My immediate concern is the hand luggage restriction.
My secondary concern is that mum will freak out.

  • we can only hope that mum will never find out. Failing that tell her you are going to Australia instead.

What were you going to take as hand luggage anyway? So long as you eat it in public you will be fine.

  • Well I was going to bring a cell phone, ipod etc.

You can't bring anything except passport, wallet and keys. Not that I plan to bring keys anyway.

  • And of course Mum will find out.
It is all over thew news.

They watch the news in fine detail.

  • yip, there is no way you could miss that story.

they may allow hand luggage by next week again andrew

  • Its just a bit of a shock, being so close...

The prospect of being blown up, although unlikely, is still unsettling.

By Blogger Andrew, at 10:10 am

  • i just got a call from dad. He now wants me to spend a night in la because i only have 2hrs20 between my flights and he reckons i will miss it since the queues are now mega long

By Blogger amy, at 10:33 am

  • Even though your flight is 2 weeks away?

My stop over is in Hong Kong, so I shouldn't get delayed.

If anything, the flight to Heathrow will be delayed. Ie I'm not trying to leave a busy airport, I am trying to enter one.

By Blogger Andrew, at 10:38 am

  • well i reckon if airnz sells this flight then surely it is not up to me to change it so i don't miss it right? like, the airnz flight to canada is the same one i am catching

By Blogger amy, at 10:49 am

  • I would agree, but your daddy would know more than me.

By Blogger Andrew, at 10:53 am

  • yeah, there may be a problem in that i didn't book my vancouver flight with air nz but surely they will have to delay it for others. Maybe I should ring up airnz?

By Blogger amy, at 11:04 am

  • Ringing them wouldn't do any harm, but I think they will be a bit vague today.

Their call centre staff probably haven't had a proper briefing yet but they could definitely talk in general terms.

I guess you don't have a travel agent.

By Blogger Andrew, at 11:07 am

  • no, no i don't. Daddy says airnz is no use anyway. So i emailed air canada. Lets see what i get back.

By Blogger amy, at 12:03 pm

  • how is everyone's afternoon progressing?

By Blogger amy, at 2:27 pm

  • Yeah Ame, Dad is probably right. If there's one thing I know about LAX it is that it sucks. If their computers break down like they did when I was there then 2 hours 20 definitely won't be enough time.

And Andrew, look at this a different way, surely instead of being unsettling the prospect of being blown up could be considered... exhilirating, exciting etc. Living life on the edge, although not too close, as I'd say the odds of you getting blown up are probably exactly the same as they were three months ago, maybe even less due to increased security.
